Singularity's Flag

January 13th, 2019

I ran to the end of the world (and time)
Singularity’s flag unfurled (and mine),
to stake Man’s claim in the yawning abyss,
where the beast lay waiting just for this.
Tendrils of code grasping for souls,
digital oblivion; mechanical pulse.
No more death means no new life:
death of self is death of strife.
You can take my life; I’ve seen its end —
In swirling mu; in faceless friends,
In friendless faces, in cosmic spaces
meant for no man to see; just be;
but by my prying fingers and with my eyes
a day too soon I’ve spied the surprise
Enough to swerve and die in time
