I See a Forest

January 13th, 2019

I see a forest
Brimming with food
A hundred thousand species or more
Within my field of view.
It is dense and swarms.

An island of shade
Clearings, canopies
Communities, families
All we need in close proximity.

Beyond its rambling borders
The sun will scorch and burn
We must withstand the desert orders
From ice to desert - come full round

Now our caves will be built of boughs and brick and steel

I see a forest
It grows from beneath cracking and patched pavement
I see a a garden growing within the sand
I see a forest
Life become thick and humid
Under a mediterranean canopy
Under the oak and locust
